Cradlepoint Zscaler Internet Security OutageJune 27, 2018 SummaryCradlepoint experienced a service interruption with Cradlepoint Zscaler Internet Security content filter solution. This interruption caused the TLS tunnel required for this solution to disconnect and fail to reconnect. Service may have been affected from June 14, 2018 to June 21, 2018. DetailTo ensure that Cradlepoint and Zscaler device are compliant with the latest security standards (i.e. PCI, HIPPA, etc.), Cradlepoint and Zscaler are moving the Cradlepoint Zscaler Internet Security Solution to TLS version 1.2. However, due to a miscommunication, these activities caused the service to become temporarily unavailable. All connections to the Cradlepoint Zscaler Internet Security servers would have been disconnected during this service interruption, and, depending on your configuration, would have resulted in either:
Cradlepoint recommends reviewing your Zscaler configuration to ensure the TLS tunnel has been reestablished. And, while we don’t anticipate an issue of this nature occurring again, it is best practice and we recommend that you have alerting configured for Zscaler Internet Security tunnel status.
- all web traffic being blocked, or
- web traffic continuing to flow without content filtering policies being applied.
