Summary

This document will walk you through the install and Uninstall of the beta NetCloud Engine client for CentOS and Fedora


Pre-Requisites

  1. NetCloud Engine beta RPM supports devices running one of the following releases:

    • CentOS 6.4 or 6.5
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.5 (Santiago)
    • Fedora Release 19 or 20
  2. Currently, the installer requires zeromq, libpgm and openssl to be installed prior to installing NetCloud Engine RPM client:

For Fedora 19 and 20:

$ sudo yum install zeromq
$ sudo yum install openssl

For CentOS 6.4 and 6.5:

$ sudo yum install openssl
$ wget ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/epel/6/x86_64/zeromq-2.2.0-4.el6.x86_64.rpm
$ wget ftp://ftp.pbone.net/mirror/ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/pbleser:/zeromq/RedHat_RHEL-6/x86_64/libpgm-5_1-0-5.1.118-2.1.x86_64.rpm
$ rpm -i libpgm-5_1-0-5.1.118-2.1.x86_64.rpm
$ rpm -i zeromq-2.2.0-4.el6.x86_64.rpm

 

How to Install NetCloud Engine RPM

$ rpm -i pertino-client-prod-271.4.x86_64.rpm (Name will change per release)

Note: Errors will occur during installation if you do not instal the pre-requisites prior to installing NetCloud Engine RPM.


How to Configure the Client

$ cd /opt/pertino/pgateway
$ sudo ./.pauth -u <username> -p <password>

Enter your account email as the username and corresponding account password to add your device.

Note: If your password has any special characters you must use single quotes 'password'.


Start NetCloud Engine (pgateway) Service

$ service pgateway start

The following 2 errors may accrue during pgateway start can be ignored if you encounter them:
ERROR - Failed to get computer name. Either the length exceeded the buffer size or the system call failed
ERROR - Failed to get local host name. Either the length exceeded the buffer size or the system call failed


How to Uninstall NetCloud Engine RPM

$ rpm -qa | grep -i pertino
$ rpm -e <enter pertino-connect-xxx name returned in the query>
