Different WiFI Channels will perform at different levels based upon your unique environment. By default the router will utilize a Smart Select feature to determine the channel with the least interference and select that channel. This is not always the best channel for your environment however as you may see degraded range based on the channel selected and how it interacts with physical obstacles that can also affect range. This article will detail how to change the WiFi Channel.
Configuration Difficulty: Beginner
- Step 1: Log into the router's Setup Page. For help with logging in please click here.
- Step 2: Click on Network Settings and select WiFi / Local Networks from the drop-down menu.
- Step 3: Click on Advanced WiFi Settings.
- Step 4: Set Channel Selection Method to User Selection.
- Step 5: Set Channel to the desired channel.
You have successfully changed the Wireless Channel on the Cradlepoint router. Test your wireless network for possible improved performance. If performance is not improved repeat these steps choosing a different WiFi channel.
