How to check the firmware version

Products Supported: Series 3. Click here to identify your router.

Firmware Version: 5.4.x (5.0.4 for MBR95, 4.3.2 for CBR4x0 and 3.6.3 for CTR35) - for information on upgrading firmware, click here. Please note that for the CBR4x0, MBR95, and CTR35 routers, there will be no further firmware updates, so the process defined below may be different for these routers.

Summary

In some cases, a router needs to have a specific firmware version installed in order to recognize and correctly use a modem. This article describes different ways of checking the router and modem firmware versions on a Series 3 Cradlepoint router.

Router Firmware - Method 1

  • Step 1: Log into the router's Setup Page. For help with logging in please click here.
  • Step 2: On the Status / Dashboard look under Router Information and you will see the firmware displayed.

Router Firmware - Method 2

  • Step 1: Log into the router's Setup Page. For help with logging in please click here.
  • Step 2: Click on System Settings and select System Software from the drop-down menu.

  • Step 3: The routers firmware version will be displayed here.

Modem Firmware - Method 1

  • Step 1: Log into the router's Setup Page. For help with logging in please click here.
  • Step 2: Click on Status and select Internet Connections from the drop-down menu.

  • Step 3: Select the Modem Interface from the Device List.
  • Step 4: The modem firmware version will be listed under Summary.

Modem Firmware - Method 2

  • Step 1: Log into the router's Setup Page. For help with logging in please click here.
  • Step 2: Click on Internet and select Connection Manager from the drop-down menu.

  • Step 3: Select the Modem Interface under WAN Interfaces.
  • Step 4: Click Control.

  • Step 5: In the Update / Activate Device window click on Firmware.

  • Step 6: The modem firmware version will be displayed in the Modem Firmware Upgrade window.
